The Three Main Pros of Living in Serbia: A 10-Year Experience
The People — Serbia's Main Advantage
The first and most important advantage of living in Serbia is its people. Serbs come across as very kind and responsive people, with whom it is comfortable to be around and live side by side.
Their character can be described by several key traits:
- Friendliness
- Responsiveness
- Openness
- Courage
Although you may not make close friends among Serbs, the overall feeling from interacting with them remains extremely positive, creating a comfortable living environment.
A Calm and Predictable Atmosphere
The second advantage is the calm and predictability of local life. The atmosphere in Serbia is reminiscent of summer holidays at grandma's village, creating a sense of coziness and security. There is no hustle and bustle of big cities here.
To some, this pace of life might seem boring. However, for those whose nervous system has been frayed by life in a metropolis like Moscow, the Serbian calm becomes a real salvation and an ideal condition for restoring inner balance.
Convenient Location for Budget Travel
The third significant advantage is the convenience and opportunity for budget travel. Thanks to the country's location, it is easy and inexpensive to get to many interesting places both in Europe and beyond.
In the last few years, I've managed to visit countries from Serbia such as:
- Prague (Czech Republic)
- Hungary
- Cyprus
Notably, none of these trips cost more than 300 euros, including tickets. Even a flight to Latin America from Serbia can be quite affordable, which opens up wide opportunities for exploring the world.
